JIPO,
the local intellectual property administrator, on October 2, 2024, announced
that it ruled in favour of the Spirits Pool Association.
By
doing so, it has “affirmed eight years of research and work that went into
the crafting of the Jamaica Rum GI”, according to the Spirits Pool Association.
